Es un proyecto muy particular ya que se encuentra en un terreno frente a la presa de Cointzio, un embalse que abastece de agua a Morelia. El terreno presentaba una pendiente bastante pronunciada y el presupuesto era limitado como para considerar una sola plataforma o incluso varias para resolver esta condición. Además, en HW-Studio siempre optamos por soluciones más económicas y ambientalmente más precisas y útiles.

Debido a estas circunstancias, parecía necesario dejar el terreno prácticamente natural y concentrar el programa en sólo dos elementos alargados y muy contundentes que remarcaran la largura propia del terreno y nos permitieran colonizar y utilizar una buena parte de éste.

Estos dos elementos irían escalonados en varias plataformas por dentro para que sólo el interior de la casa tuviera que adaptarse a las condiciones naturales del terreno y no todo el conjunto. Esto también nos permitió reducir los costos de construcción.

Propusimos tener ventanales al frente de ambos elementos para iluminar y ventilar la casa, pero sobre todo para disfrutar de las vistas de la presa en todo momento. Se decidió que la mejor opción de cubierta eran las losas inclinadas de una sola agua, ya que es una zona muy arbolada con precipitación pluvial muy alta.

It is a very particular project since it is located on a plot of land in front of the Cointzio dam, a reservoir that supplies water to Morelia. The terrain had a steep slope, and the budget was limited for us to consider a single platform or even several to solve this condition. Besides, we at HW-Studio always opt for more economical and more environmentally accurate and useful solutions.

Due to these circumstances, it seemed necessary to leave the land practically intact and focus the program on just two very strong elongated elements that would emphasize the length of the land itself and would allow us to colonize and use a good part of it.

These two elements were the ones to be staggered into several platforms so that only the inside of the house would have to adapt to the natural conditions of the terrain and not the whole property. This also allowed us to lower construction costs.

We proposed to have large windows in front of both elements to illuminate and ventilate the house, but more importantly, to enjoy the views of the dam at all times. It was decided that the best roof option was the one-sided sloping slabs as the area was surrounded by forest with a very high rainfall.
