La casa CJ es un proyecto particularmente especial para nosotros debido a varios factores que trataremos de describir en las siguientes líneas. El terreno está ubicado cerca de un pueblo, a 30 km de la ciudad de Morelia. Su abundancia de pinos, ríos, y montañas hacen de este sitio un estupendo lugar para realizar diferentes actividades turísticas, recreativas, y deportivas al aire libre. Fue precisamente el deporte extremo donde el cliente vio el potencial de la zona y construyó una pista de motocross junto con otras instalaciones para entrenar, alquilar, hacer negocios, y disfrutar de este deporte que le apasionaba.

Así comenzó el proyecto, con la construcción de una pista de motocross. A medida que la obra avanzaba, el cliente notó que pasaba mucho tiempo en la pista y nos solicitó el diseño de una casa para pasar cómodamente el tiempo, recibir invitados, específicamente deportistas profesionales de motocross, y para quedarse los fines de semana con su familia.

El único requisito era que su forma debía ser contundente, inesperada, y que la casa fuera lo suficientemente cómoda y espaciosa como para poder habitarla permanentemente en un momento dado. El programa contemplaba sala, comedor, cocina, bar, sala de televisión, y tres recámaras. Todos los espacios, salvo la sala y el comedor, estaban contenidos en dos enormes cajas forradas de madera de pino, que es el tipo de madera que se trabaja en los alrededores. Por la forma y el material, queríamos hacer referencia a las enormes cajas de madera que forman los aserraderos de la zona cuando ponen su madera apilada a secar al sol.

Al concentrar el programa en estos dos volúmenes, pudimos dejar la sala y el comedor de una manera muy libre en el espacio resultante. También pudimos abrir la vista a la pista de motocross desde todos los espacios públicos importantes de la casa, enmarcando siempre todas las actividades que se llevan a cabo en la pista con una franja de cristal perimetral.

CJ house is a particularly special project for us due to several factors that we will try to describe in the following lines. The land is located near a town, 30 kms from the city of Morelia. Its abundance of pine trees, rivers, and mountains make this site a great place for performing different activities: tourism, recreation, and outdoor sports. It was precisely extreme sports where the client saw potential in the area and built a moto- cross track along with other amenities to train, rent, do business, and enjoy this sport he was passionate about.

This is how the project began, with the construction of a moto-cross track. As the project progressed, the client noticed that he was spending lots of time at the track and asked us to design a house for him to comfortably spend time, to receive guests, specifically professional moto-cross athletes, and to stay on weekends with his family.

The only requirement was that its shape had to be overwhelming, unexpected, and that the house should be comfortable and spacious enough to be able to inhabit it permanently at any given time. The program included: living room, dining room, kitchen, bar, TV room, and three bedrooms. All spaces except for the living room and dining room were contained in two huge boxes lined with pine wood; this is the type of wood that is produced in the surrounding area. Based on the shape and material, we wanted to make a reference to the huge wooden boxes seen at the sawmills in the area when they stack their wood to dry in the sun.

By focusing the program on these two volumes, we were able to leave the living and dining rooms free in the remaining space. We were also able to provide an open view of the moto-cross track from all the important public spaces of the house, framing all the activities taking place in the track at all times with this strip of perimeter glass.

除了客厅和餐厅，所有的空间都包含在两个巨大的箱子里，里面铺着松木；这是周围地区生产的木材类型。

当他们把木材堆在太阳下晒干时，根据形状和材料，我们想参考在该地区锯木厂看到的巨大的木箱。

通过将方案集中在这两个体量上，我们能够在剩余的空间里留下客厅和餐厅。
