Casa JA, o La casa que se esconde tras la colina, es un proyecto que desde un inicio imaginamos como una discreta y ligera línea horizontal que más que reivindicar la propia presencia de la casa, remarca el cielo y las montañas del fondo, entre las cuales se escurren los últimos rayos del sol.
Teníamos que mantener la fachada principal tímidamente oculta de la mirada de quienes circulan por las calles de la cañada de Santa Bárbara. Queríamos que la casa fuera tan íntima y silenciosa que sólo sugiriera su propia presencia, eludiendo cualquier presunción, exhibición exagerada, o la ostentación típica del lugar donde se encuentra. Su interior de piedra negra pretende hacer destacar la cubierta y enfatizar esa línea horizontal sobre la que se posaría el sol, el cielo, y las montañas.
La magia de los atardeceres que se perciben desde su ubicación fue algo importante para nosotros durante todo el proceso de diseño. Todos los espacios del interior deseaban verse influenciados por la belleza de esta luz que no hace más que producir cierto encantamiento.
La casa se divide en tres bloques colocados en distintos niveles, conectados por anchas escaleras cubiertas y descubiertas que configuran un espacio continuo y fluido. Los jardines, patios, y plazas organizan el resto del programa y dotan a los espacios de cierta naturaleza introspectiva, domesticada, y silenciosa, llenando todo de una intimidad y recogimiento tal que nos recuerda la arquitectura prehispánica y colonial de algunos pueblos michoacanos.

JA House, or The House that Hides Behind the Hill, is a project that we imagined from the very beginning as a discreet, slight horizontal line highlighting the sky and the mountains in the background, with the latest sun rays draining in between.
We had to keep the main facade timidly hidden from the eyes of those circulating the streets of the Santa Barbara glen. We wanted the house to be so intimate and silent that only suggested its own presence, avoiding any presumption, exaggerated exhibition, or the typical ostentation of the place where it is located. Its black stone interiors pretend to emphasize the roof and highlight that horizontal line on which the sun, the sky, and the mountains peacefully rest.
The magic sunsets perceived from its location was something important for us throughout the design process. All spaces inside wished to be influenced by the beauty of such light that does nothing but produce a very particular enchantment.
The house is divided into three blocks placed on different levels, interconnected by wide covered and uncovered stairs that make up a continuous and fluid space. The gardens, patios, and squares organize the rest of the program, provide a certain introspective, domesticated, silent nature and fill the spaces with such intimacy and recollection that reminds us of the pre-Hispanic and colonial architecture of some towns in Michoacán.

这座屋宅分为三个区块，放置在不同的楼层，通过宽大的有顶和无顶的楼梯相互连接，构成流动的连续空间。
花园、天井和广场组织了项目的其余部分，提供了某种内省的、驯化的、沉默的性质，并使空间充满了这种亲密感和回忆，这让我们想起米却肯州一些城镇的前西班牙和殖民时期的建筑。
