Casa del abuelo . Grandpa’s home . 爷爷的家

Este proyecto se concibió como la casa de retiro de Don Rogelio en una zona rural en el centro de México. Nuestro cliente, de fuerte temperamento pero de ideas muy claras, quería un lugar para que él y sus hermanos, que viven en el mismo barrio, se reencontraran en esta nueva etapa de sus vidas. Él y su familia crecieron en una casa y un entorno cuya tipología de casa fue traída por los españoles y a su vez de los romanos. Es una casa organizada en torno a un patio central, una fuente o impluvium, y árboles frutales. Teníamos claro que esta tipología era la adecuada para evocar ese recuerdo y ese sentimiento de ser niños felices y despreocupados.

Tomamos la planta de una domus romana y diseccionamos una de sus esquinas para conectar el vacío del patio central con los vacíos circundantes a la pieza. Con un gesto tan sencillo, modificamos la tipología y evitamos una arquitectura literal y escenográfica que no correspondiera a su momento histórico. Pretendíamos dotar a esta vivienda de una experiencia habitacional muy similar a la de vagar perdido por un pueblo.

This project was meant to be Don Rogelio’s retirement home in a rural area in central Mexico. Our client had a fiery temperament but very clear ideas, and he wanted a place for him and his siblings, who live in the same neighborhood, to meet again in this new stage of their lives. He and his family grew up in a home and an environment with a style that was brought by the Spaniards and in turn from the Romans. This home is settled around a central courtyard, a fountain or impluvium, and fruit trees. We had it clear that this home style was the right one to evoke the moments and the happy feelings of being carefree children.

We took the floor plan of a Roman domus and dissected one of its corners to connect the emptiness of the central courtyard with the surrounding voids of the main piece. With such a simple gesture, we modified the home type and avoided an architectural scenography so literal that would not match its historical moment. We aimed to give this home a dwelling experience very similar to that of roaming lost in a village.

这个项目是为了成为唐·罗赫里奥在墨西哥中部农村地区的退休之家。我们的客户性情火爆，但思路非常清晰，他希望有个地方让他和住在同社区的兄弟姐妹在他们人生的新阶段再度见面。他和家人是在源自西班牙裔、反过来又来自罗马风格的家庭和环境中长大的。这个住宅是围绕着中央庭院、喷泉或植入物和果树而建的。我们很清楚，这种住宅风格无疑是唤起无忧无虑的孩童时光和快乐感觉的正确选择。

我们采用了罗马式住宅的平面图，并将其中一个角落剖开，将中央庭院的空旷地带与周围主片的空隙连接起来。通过这样简单的姿态，我们修改了住宅类型，避免了与历史时刻不相匹配的建筑场景设计。我们的目的是给这个家一个居住的体验，非常类似于在村庄里让人迷失的漫游感觉。
